THE CALM BEFORE JANUARY
"Change your thinking, change your life" --Ernest Holmes
It is coming to the end of an old year. This may seem disappointing for a few, and for others a chance for a fresh breath of new air. If the year brought many challenges, you may feel like you could use a few new stepping stones to lift you into more promising circumstances. The past is past, and you can decide to rehash some of the decisions you made, or you can decide that you can start with a clean new slate. At our Las Vegas Center for Spiritual living, some classes are coming up. Rev Staci is presenting two "Conscious Creation Workshops", one in person and one one line, and Rev Cheryl is presenting one of my personal favorites, "The Essential Ernest Holmes". For more information about these offerings, check out our website, Las Vegas Center for Spiritual Living: lasvegascsl.com, they can be found under "classes" at the top of the page. Both provide some inspiration for, as Ernest Holmes would say, "Change your thinking, change your life."
As a teacher for over 27 years, I once came across a student sitting on a bench at the front of the school, crying. I sat down next to her to find out why she was so upset. The student told me that she had turned in her term paper a day late, and that the teacher wouldn't accept it. We talked about reasons why she didn't turn her in her paper on time, and what she could do about it the next time she had a similar assignment. The discussion lead to what she had learned from this situation, which is the only thing that can be gained from something that has already passed by. Or is it? I also suggested that she bring her parents back with her to see if the teacher couldn't give her at least some credit.
“Love and love alone dissolves all negativity, not by attacking it, but by bathing it in higher frequencies, much as light dissolves darkness by its mere presence.”
― There's a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem
Never think that your past defines you. The word "sin" is literally an old archery term that means, "Missing the mark". If something terrible from your past is overwhelming your present life, release it. Think of your life as, "from this moment on".
Love, Light, and Laugther,
Rev Sandy Smith
