HAPPY HAUNTING
“Careful the spell you cast, not just on children / Sometimes the spell may last past what you can see, and turn against you.” — Witch, “Into the Woods”
Interesting quote, isn't it? "Careful the spell you cast...Sometimes the spell may last past what you can see, and turn against you." Metaphorically, it also applies to our own selves as well, being honest with what we say, becasue it keeps you from having to remember the lie that was told about it. Also, it is a reminder to think before you speak, because words have a habit of lingering on once spoken. For me I want to leave positive footprints on the hearts and minds of the people I meet, rather than to stomp on them with both army boots.
Life is too short to be unkind to others. I was a teacher for over twety-seven years, and I have realized that when some young people are angry, they sometimes don't say what they mean. A person never knows what someone else my be going through. There may have been a death in the family, abuse on the homefront, or any number of behind the scene scenarios going on. Perhaps the same is true for adults, a hard day at work, loosing a job, trying to find a place to live, any number of things could be kindling that is just waiting for the spark to fly.
So, as Mother Teresa would say:
"Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God; It was never between you and them anyway."
Have a safe and Happy Halloween. Let the treats out number the tricks. May you spread kindess and honesty to every person who crosses your path. At he post office says,"It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice."
Love and light,
Rev Sandy Smith
