EVERYTHING YOU NEED

Just like plants, every living thing needs certain elements to grow. Where did those elements come from? Where did the the trees, flowers, bushes, vegetables come from? A seed was planted by a hand covering it with soil, or the wind or some other element that caused it to be there. The plant that grows cannot at first be seen above the soil, but has all it needs to grow. Sun, water, the elements in the soil--all are present to aid in its growth. Some invisible source is there, encouraging it to grow. 

People are like that as well, everything we need to grow and prosper is provided for us by Spirit. Do we go through trials and tribulations, yes, does it sometimes take effort to move forward, of course. Ernest Holmes asks the question, "How is it that I can eat mince pie and ham sandwiches and maybe a salad, and have it turn into flesh and blood and hair and fingernails? Here is the miracle of Life, the Invisible becoming visible. We are so used to the process that we never question it; we take it for granted. Why should we not take it for granted that god will give us ideas, that the Spirit within us, as Jesus said, knows what we have need of even before we ask."

All that is needed is an idea; that one idea could be the friend who invites you to an AA meeting, or a friend that invites you to a concert at a Center for Spiritual Living. Perhaps you pick up an inspirational book, or see an ad in the newspaper or online that  draws you to the person or place that awakens the idea in you to try something new. Once the seed is planted for change, opportunity often crosses our path. 

"So what are the tools for transforming lives? Remember the God Presence that surrounds us, lives, moves, and breathes us; and using affirmative prayer, meditation, or another spiritual practice to connect with the Spirit within."

Know that you are Love in action. Are you on the right track in life?
Is there something that you would like to do or have or be? Start a few affirmative prayers for the ideas to follow through on. If you need some help with prayer, ask for it. Know that Spirit inspires us when we pray about it.

 ON THE WINGS OF DECEMBER “Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.” –Hamilton Wright Mabie Gary and I are back from Thanksgiving in New Mexico. This is a shot of all the people who sat around the dinner table, and then took an hour's worth of pictures (sound familiar?). Now comes the time to start getting ready for Christmas. I think the general public started getting ready for the season in October, whereas most normal families are getting ready right now. Since our place is small, we have a Christmas peacock on our patio. Indoors we have a thin but tall tree (pictures to follow in my next blog). We all have our traditions around the holidays, homemade stuffing, cornbread, cranberry sauce, yams, and some kind of meat or meatless protein (many more vegetarians than there used to be).
