THE DIVORCE AND MEETING GARY "When we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease."   --Deepak Chopra When I was 44, I was going through a divorce, and looking for answers to what my spirituality was.   I had been going to a toastmaster’s meeting that met at the Center for Joyful Living, in Bonita, California. After three years, I finally noticed a brochure for the Center that had been sitting there the whole time. As I read the information, it spoke of Spirit as being within me. It spoke of the Power I had, with the help of Spirit, to change my thinking and change my life. It shared the Bible's message, that it is done unto you as you believe. I went to the first service and the next few, crying each time I went.   I discovered my spiritual home, and that a new avenue in my life had opened up to me. A few years later, after dating a little bit, and living by myself for the first time in my whole life, I real

THECHRISTMAS RING        "In our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe                circulating in our lives."  Deepak Chopra Think back to the best Christmas present you ever received. For me it was a cubic zee ring set in gold. My first husband and I did quite a bit of shopping. We would see furniture we liked and think it was too high-priced and we would say, "if we come back in a week and it is on sale, we are meant to have it". Well, one year at Christmas time we were shopping, and we saw a ring I really liked.   I  tried it on, and it was a little more than we wanted to spend, and so we left, with the same philosophy, if it’s still here in a week we were meant to have it. We came back a week later and it was gone. Fast forward to Christmas.   There was a small box under the tree addressed to me.   I opened the box and there was a glass jewel case which took a long time to open.   When I finally got it open, ther

MY FIRST APARTMENT "The past is history, the future is a mystery, and this moment is a gift. That is why the moment is called the present " .    --Deepak Chopra My first apartment was across the street from Cal-State Fullerton.   It was a one room apartment that cost $150 a month to rent. It was such a blessing to be able to walk across the street to school, and not struggle for over a half hour every day to find a place to park.   It was the first time that I ever lived alone, and I was frightened to be there alone at night. My burglar alarm consisted of two long, metal serving spoons that I tied together and hung over the front doorknob.   I realize now that if I had ever heard them clanging together, that I would have probably died of a heart attack.   My boyfriend who was in the navy in San Diego would come down to visit on the weekends, and we were very creative about much of our furniture, a big wooden spool that came from a wire plant, for a table; old wooden seven

RALPH AND MICHEL "Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind...what we sow is what we reap,     and when we choose to bring that happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma                            is happiness and success."                      -- Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Two students I had in my drama class, Ralph and Michelle, were so hard working and talented. They built sets, acted in plays, participated in speech tournaments, and fell in love with each other.   They both went on to study Theatre Arts at California State University Fullerton, got married, became teachers, and raised some wonderful children. I have come to find out that their two children have gone on to participate in theatre as well! Theatre teaches so many things: how to get along in a group, how to understand other people, how to use math in a practical setting, how to imagine, how to speak with poise in front of a crowd of peo
