KEEPING YOUR MUSIC ALIVE "Music is heard with the ears, understood by the heart." Anonymous Another quote I have heard is, "Don't die with your music still in you."  Both these quotes  can relate to music, because music has the special quality of lifting you up, calming you down, and also inspiring to to amazing things. It can also mean following your heart's desire, writing that book of poetry, becoming a yoga instructor, running a marathon , acting in a play, or singing your heart out to a crowd. If you want to follow a dream, do it. Whether you are a great succes or merely do it for the enjoyment, you'll never know unless you try.   WE'RE HAVING A HEATWAVE "I've discovered something I didn't know as a teenager: the older I get, the younger that older age seems. Forty suddenly becoes the new thirty, fifty the new forty. Age is a mindset. If we keep moving, eat right, and continue learning, we age to perfection."                                             Sandra Lindsey Smith,   -- Life's Garden of Weekly Wisdom Weather in Washington State is getting much milder. I probably have warm memories because I didn&

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? “You cannot do kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson We may not always know it, but the things we say and do leave footprints on the souls of  others. I saw a poster that said,  "You may not think that the kindess shared makes any difference, but to someone else it may have made  a world of difference." Interesting thought, positive or negative words and actions make a difference.  Would you rather leave kind and loving footprints on the soul of another, or do you want to stomp on someone and leave painful memories? I am sure that most of us remember a special kindness that someone shared with us, and sadly enough those words that were said in an angry voice. Remember to be mindful of what you say and do as you go throught your day. "What we are sending out, we are getting back."                                                                 Sandra Lindsey Smith What is something t

WHAT JANUARY BRINGS "Einstein was saying we are all part of a greater whole, all things. And it is our delusion of separatness that causes so much pain and confusion and loneliness, when in reality all things are connected and intertwined."    --Naomii Levy,    Einsteine and the Rabbi This first month of the year brings a time for reflection and for inviting new and exciting things into our lives. It brings a time to exam our challenges, who creates them and who solves them. I know that this year I will bring more joy and laughter into my life. I will allow myself to be adventurous, and to get out and experience more of what life has to offer. When anything challenging happens in my life. I will accept that I had a part in it, and that with God's help, I will discover a way to move through it.  My goal is to be kind and compassionate in my words and actions, and to realize that my way of doing something is not the only way that it can be done. I will be open to learning
