MOVE TO THE RHYTHM
What if life is a dance? A dance is most often set to music, and there are a myriad of dances, and music that fill our lives with inspiration. They play a part in cheering us on, or soothing us as we journey through different phases of our life. Dances and concerts attract a wide variety of people, different ages, different backgrounds, different life styles. Some of us grew up in families that embraced the rhythm of life, some had to acquire it later in life.
The Las Vegas Center for Spiritual Living is where I have acquired much of my own sense of rhythm. We get up and move to the music, we clap and dance. Sometimes I need to watch people in from of me to clap to the rhythm. I have always, (up until now), considered myself to be handy-clapped. Luckily my church family has helped me to move to the rhythm.
There is even a rhythm on freeways, when the traffic is flowing smoothly, there is a sort of dance as drivers skillfully change lanes; and oncoming and off-going cars miraculously merge on and off the road. Is there harmony in the house you live in, taking turns in the bathroom, each person playing a part in the daily routine of the house? Every activity we participate in has its own special rhythm, and even when it seems chaotic, it is still a rhythm.
As I grew up, the smoothness of life was interrupted at times. Once while complaining about it, I had a very wise teacher who said, "You know Sandy, you can complain about how things are going in your life, or you can decide that when you have a home of your own, you can do things differently.' An early message to me, that changing my thinking can often change my life.
