WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

The purpose of human life is to serve and to show compassion, and the will to help others. Albert Schweitzer

Think about all the things that happen in your daily life that depend upon a long line of hands, minds and heart doing something for others. The coffee you drink was initially a bean from a plant that someone planted somewhere. It was tended to, given water, fertilizer and sunlight. When ripe, someone had to pick the beans. They were dried and processed, perhaps ground, processed, and put into containers for delivery. Someone had to pack boxes and load them onto trucks or into trains or planes. The boxes were unloaded by someone to go to grocery stores or restaurants. Eventually the coffee arrived and was prepared, and the cup was ready for you to drink. It took a group effort for that coffee to arrive in your cup.

Now this was just coffee, but think about all the places we go each day that depend upon people doing their jobs: the grocery store, the dentist, restaurants, to name a few. We are all interconnected, and that is something we need to remember and be thankful for. Each person on this planet has unique talents to share with the world, and we must be open to recognize that. Since we are on this planet together, a collective consciousness is necessary to care for one-another, helping and asking for help when it is needed. Be a beacon of light to all who cross your path.

I don’t like formality. There’s no formality when we’re born and none when we die. In between we should treat each other as brothers and sisters because we all want to live a happy life. This is our common purpose and our right.    --14th Dalai Lama

How do you stay connected? Do you give a genuine smile to everyone you meet? Do you pass the kindness you receive on to others? Positivity needs to be shared.

Love and Light,

Rev Sandy Smith
