WAKE UP TO TO THE ATTAINABLE PEACE OF MIND

A human being is part of the whole, called by us "Universe", a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as sometimes separate from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. The striving to free oneself from this delusion is the one issue of true religion. Not to nourish the delusion but to try to overcome it is the way to reach the attainable measure of peace of mind."    --Albert Einstein

Einstein was a man with a brilliant mind. Growing up he was faced with many learning challenges. "Einstein struggled with reading and writing throughout his life, and he had difficulty with spelling and organizing his thoughts. Despite these challenges, he went on to become one of the greatest scientific minds in history. It is important to note that dyslexia does not impact intelligence, and individuals with dyslexia can excel in other areas."

His opening quote above, about freeing ourselves from the delusion of separateness, to overcome it, is the way to attain peace of mind, is stunning. And his suggestion that this is what true religion should be working towards, confirms my belief in Oneness. One Creative Intelligence behind all of creation, we just call It by different names.

 There’s One Power invisible
And you see it everywhere and everyday.
One Power, indescribable
And you speak of it with every word you say:
Mysterious until you know the truth
As simple as the love inside of you.
Chorus: Call it God, call it Spirit
Call it Jesus, call it Lord
Call it Buddha; Ba’ha’ulla
Angel’s Wings or Heaven’s Door
But whatever name you give it
It’s all One Power, can’t you see
It’s the power of love in you and me. -- Daniel Nahmod

When you go into  a museum and look at the art work, is there one piece that resonates with you, and others that do not? Religion is sort of like that. For me, at forty-six, I discovered, The Center for Spiritual Living, and it felt like I was coming home. I think that all people have a spiritual side, even if it is just going out in nature and seeing the beautiful trees and plants, or looking at sunrise and sun sets. What is the Power behind that amazing creation? to me, it's too amazing to be just an accident.

Love and Light,
Rev Sandy Smith
