STEP OUT OF THE HAMSTER WHEEL

"I don't have to be perfect, I'm doing the best I can, I give myself permission to be just who I am."

Karen Drucker

Do you ever find yourself fixated on something that went wrong in the past 24 hours? Over and over again you replay the situation?  When that happens, cut yourself some slack, long enough to remember all of the hundreds of other things that went right the same day. The past is indeed the past, and you may let it go. In the present moment, move on with mindfulness and know, that you don't have to be perfect, and that you are doing the best that you can.

On the occasions that I find myself worrying about something that has happened or is going to happen in the future, I have found that the best solution is to journal about it, and then conclude it with an affirmative prayer treatment. For example, a week ago today I had a tooth extracted by an oral surgeon. My regular dentist  referred me to him because of the position of the tooth, and the uncertainty of my bone density. That fear built up in me, and I asked for prayer from our prayer ministry team. I also knew that praying for the right and perfect results, and the knowledge that a skilled dental team had my back (or perhaps, in this case, my jaw), would secure a positive outcome. It worked, the fear dissipated, and I knew all would be a smooth and efficient procedure. It was, and I was reminded, once again, that prayer does work!

So, step off of the hamster wheel and remember that you are a magnificent human being, and that your good experiences vastly outnumber those that frazzle you.

"We want our relaxed state to be relaxed and not zoned out. Sometimes all it takes to be relaxed is to remember the connection we have with the spiritual Energy that surrounds us, and utilize It."

Sandra Lindsey Smith,             --Life's Garden Grows

Love yourself and realize that praising yourself is much better than beating yourself up. Go with the flow and know, as Christian Larson says " forget the mistakes of the past, and move on to the greater achievements of the future". That is what it is all about.

Love, Light, and laughter,

Rev Sandy Smith
