SPRINGTIME, A REMINDER OF RENEWAL

"No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world."

Robin Williams

This time of year reminds me of resurrection, or more simply put, renewal. Each day when we wake from our slumber, we resurrect to a new day. Every day as I awaken, I treasure another day of seeing what life has to offer for the new day. As I look at all the events  that I have been blessed with in my life, I can see the positive renewal that has occurred. From acting in plays at an early age, through gaining a degree in Theatre Arts, and then teaching Drama for thirty-two years; to going through a divorce, discovering Science of Mind, becoming a minister, surviving colon cancer, remarrying; and along the way, moving to new homes eighteen times. I have been resurrected into a new experience each time.

Every time we get a new job, find a new home, release an old relationship, get married, have a baby, or recover from an illness or accident, we are being born into a new experience. But isn't it wonderful that we can move to a new experience even though we might not appreciate it at the time.

Plants and trees are a reminder that life goes on. Trees shed their leaves in winter and renew those leaves in the springtime. Think of those plants in your yard that  keep renewing themselves through the seasons, lilies, tulips, crocus all poking their heads through the soil at exactly the right time.

If you ever find yourself stuck in any situation in your life, it may be time to open the doors to a new experience. For me, I look at my first marriage and realize that releasing it opened a new path for me. I found a new faith that opened me to a family of new friends, and a positive, new way to look  at life. Easter is around the corner. Perhaps it's time to follow your new path.

"Having a new approach to life means, that whenever we discover something that is not working in our life, we need to look at it from another perspective or maybe even change to a new way of doing or thinking about something."

In a world that seems to be going through uncertainty, now is the time to come together to share community, and find some new ideas.
